Rainer Pusch studied with George Coleman in New York and Jerry Bergonzi in Boston (USA).
He holds a diploma in „Performance“ of the Berklee College of Music, Boston.
He studied Carnatic (south Indian, classical) music with G.S.Mani and S. Rajaram at the Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) 
Rainer Pusch was a scolar of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
He started his career in Germany (with Peter Kosch, Thomas Stabenow, Südpool Orchestra, Frederic Rabold Crew, Rainer Pusch Big Band etc.)
He taught at the Mannheim State Conservatory (Germany)
Concerts with his own bands in the Baltics, France, Spain, Germany, Indonesia, Russia, Rumania, Burkina Faso,. India, Nepal and China.
He taught at the Institut musical de Formation Professional at Salon du Provence and the Cite de la Musique de Marseille (France)
The last years Rainer Pusch worked as a freelancing musician and teacher for saxophone and improvisation in India, Nepal & China at the L. Subramanian School (Bangalore, India), Kathmandu Jazz Conservatary (KGC), Bridge Music Academy (New Delhi, India) and the Contemporary Music Academy of Beijing (China)
Besides his projects & bands he worked with Art Farmer, Pony Poindexter, John Betsch, Horace Parlan and many others
the cooperation with musicians out of different cultures is a big part of his activities 
in concerts
with Selva Ganesh, Shivamani, Mysor Manjunat, Dr. Balamuralikrishnan, Rajat Prasanna besides many others.
tour with KARUNA Kshetra Orchestra feat. Manickam Yogeswaran to India
organized by the German Goethe Institut.
